Mary Dumas, Mediator, is an independent conflict resolution professional working with organizations and communities impacted by historic and intergenerational trauma. She holds professional certifications in World Water Diplomacy, Family and Advanced-Commercial Mediation.


Innovators, problem-solvers, public agencies, and collaborative leaders hire Mary to facilitate culturally relevant and socially responsible community engagement in single projects and long-term change initiatives, for public agencies, joint fact-finding, education and collaborative research initiatives. 


Mary is known for integrating a trauma-informed, inter-generational approach to her services with public and private clients. Her co-authored chapter: “Productive Confrontation: Challenging Privilege, Power, and Access” in More Justice, More Peace (2020) outlines her engagement approach for trauma-impacted systems and leaders and includes case examples from public policy and multi-party negotiations. She lives in the Pacific Northwest, and for over 30 years has provided confidential professional services for urban and rural communities across the U. S. and district court and dispute resolution centers in Whatcom and Skagit Counties, Washington.
