Sherina James
Sherina James is a wellness advocate, grantmaker, and equity consultant. Sherina has been involved in the movement to end gender-based violence for over twenty years as an advocate for victim-survivors of sexual, domestic, and intimate partner violence. Sherina has focused on racial equity in her work in victim services and grantmaking at the local, state, and national levels. She is the past Chair of the Pierce County Commission Against Domestic Violence in Tacoma, WA and is the current co-chair of the Washington State Department of Corrections Victims Council. Sherina has achieved the Advanced Credentialed Advocate (CA) designation from the National Advocate Credentialing Program (NACP). As an advocate, Sherina has collaborated nationally with the Institute on Domestic Violence in the African American Community (IDVAAC). She currently provides administrative coordination for the African American Domestic Peace Project (AADPP), a group focused on designing comprehensive, community-based solutions that address domestic violence from an African American perspective. She is a member of the Olympia Episcopal Diocesan Task Force to Prevent Sexual Harassment and Discrimination. Sherina holds a B.A. in Social Work from The University of Alaska Fairbanks.
